The Honourable Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission, Ekiti State, Hon. Ayodeji Ajayi has called on Stakeholders in the state to support the Commission in realising the dream of providing the needed demographic data that would facilitate the country on the pedestal of sustainable development.




Ajayi stated this Monday in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State capital during the “Ekiti State Stakeholders Summit on the 2023 Population and Housing Census”


The Commissioner noted that the summit as a way to broaden state level support base for the successful conduct of the 2023 Census.

He highlighted its objectives to include creating public awareness on the conduct of the 2023 Census including its imperatives, methodology, and timelines, promoting robust and informed conversation on the processes and procedures for the 2023 census, soliciting the cooperation and support of state level stakeholders for the conduct of the 2023 census and providing a platform to offer clarification and receive feedback and suggestions on salient issues and concerns related to the conduct of the 2023 Population and Housing Census.


He said, “I want to assure Nigerians that NPC remains committed to the conduct of credible and acceptable census that will be transformational and meet International standards.

“I therefore call on all stakeholders to join hands with NPC in realising the dream of providing the needed demographic data that will facilitate and place our Country on the pedestal of sustainable development.”



In his goodwill message, the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State Council, Comrade Rotimi Ojomoyela commended the Commission for the job weldone by carrying the members along.

Ojomoyela, represented by the Council’s Secretary, Kayode Babatuyi promised the Commission to create necessary awareness and do everything possible best towards the success of the programme.

“On behalf of NUJ, we commend NPC for job weldone and for carrying members of the Union along.”
