CP Abiodun Alamutu has been appointed as the new Zonal Director of National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW), South West.
This was contained in a statement signed and made available to journalists by Mr Olabisi, on behalf of the Centre.
Alamutu was the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command before his retirement form active service.
He took over from Ben Akinlade after completing his tour of duty.
The statement reads, “A new Zonal Director (ZD) has been appointed to head the South West Zone (SWZ) of the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW).
“He is Mr. Abiodun ALAMUTU, a retired Commissioner of Police (CP). CP ALAMUTU succeeded Mr. Ben Sola AKINLADE (DIS Rtd), who had completed his tour of duty at the SW Zonal Office.
“CP ALAMUTU holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Degree in Economics from Lagos State University, obtained in 1992. He was appointed into the Prestigious Nigeria Police Academy as Cadet ASP in 18th May, 1992.
“He later proceeded to Gwoza in Borno State in 1993 for the Police Mobile Force Anti-riot and Tactical Maneuvering Training. The new ZD is a seasoned officer of repute, who garnered both administrative and operational experience over the years.
“He had served in many States of the Zone while in Police service. This and many more accomplishments, no doubt, would become handy in his qualitative leadership in the SWZ.
“Until his disengagement from the active service of the Nigeria Police some months ago, he was the CP, Ogun State Command. He is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, United States”.
