Ekiti Asst CP, Igoche unveils book to curb insecurity

The Assistant Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, Professor Edwin Igoche Okoh has officially unveiled a book titled “Modern Security and Safety Practices in Nigeria; Current Trends and Sustainable Future Practices” in Ado Ekiti.

The 100-page book with 15 chapters focuses on the various security challenges in Nigeria and the way out.

Speaking at the ceremony, the author, Professor Edwin Igoche Okoh explained that the book represents the culmination of extensive research comprehensive analysis and dedication to understanding the complex issues in the Nigeria security system.

According to him, the current insecurity in Nigeria threatens the nation’s economy and wellbeing of the people hence the need to carry out an in-depth research towards arriving at workable solutions needed to ensure a safe society.

In his remark, the book reviewer, Professor Sola Afolayan from the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti (EKSU) affirmed that the book is a must read, considering the depth of knowledge and solutions it provides to the current Nigeria’s security situation.

Also the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo commended the ACP for such a brilliant work, saying the command would also look into the suggestions and apply them where necessary towards addressing security challenges in the state.

Earlier, the Special Adviser to Ekiti State Governor on Security Matters, Brigadier General Ebenezer Ogindana urged people of the state to assist security agencies with necessary and timely information needed to tackle crime.
