The Union of Tippers, Suppliers and Quarry Employers of Nigeria, Ekiti State Chapter, has announced a price reduction in their services to promote Local Content in the state.
This was contained in a statement in Ado-Ekiti signed and made available to journalists by the Secretary of the Union, Okunola Idowu.
According to the Union, the latest development was reached after a unanimous decision following an extensive discussion with the Director General, Bureau of Local Content, Olalekan Ijidale.
The statement reads: “Effective immediately, we will be reducing our service charges by Five Thousand Naira (N5,000) on every trip depend on location of the site. This strategic decision aims to encourage contractors, artisans, and individuals involved in construction and development projects to continue patronizing our services.
“We believe that maintaining reasonable pricing is vital for ensuring the smooth continuation of state government contracts and minimizing unnecessary inflation within the industry.
“This price reduction is mandatory and binding for all our members. We are committed to upholding this decision, and any member found in violation of this agreement may be reported to the State Secretariat at the following contact number: 0803-232-3270. It is important to note that this price adjustment will not compromise the quality and efficiency of the services we provide. We remain dedicated to delivering the highest standards for all our clients.
“In addition to our price reduction initiative, we are proud to reaffirm our commitment to supporting the state government’s environmental efforts. As part of our ongoing collaboration, we will continue to offer the use of our tippers at no cost on all designated Environmental Days. This initiative is aimed at assisting in the removal of debris and waste from our communities to appropriate waste disposal sites.
“These actions align with Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s “Operation Keep Ekiti Clean” agenda, and we express our gratitude to the Governor for his unwavering support of our union.
“We see this as an opportunity not only to give back to our community but also to contribute positively to the environment and the overall well-being of the residents of Ekiti State.
“We appreciate the ongoing support from our members and stakeholders, and we are confident that these initiatives will foster a spirit of collaboration and contribute to the growth of our local economy”.
