Former Head of State of Nigeria, Yakubu Gowon has said the Nigerian Civil War between 1967 and 1970 was not driven by hatred but to preserve unity.
Gowon, who was head of state from 1966 to 1975, stated this at a Christian convention in Abuja.
He emphasized forgiveness, integrity and national healing, while also urging Nigerians to support unity regardless of faith or ethnicity.
