The 2025 World Iyan Carnival is shaping up to be an international standard event, poised to attract global investors to Ekiti State.
This was revealed by the organisers during the inauguration of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) in Ado Ekiti.
Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Sikiru Olowoyo and Prince Ade Ajayi stated that early preparations were crucial to building on the successes of the previous edition.
They noted that prominent personalities would be invited to further enhance the event’s global appeal.
The World Iyan Carnival aims to boost socio-economic activities in the Ekiti State, showcase Ekiti to the global community and promote “Iyan” (pounded yam), a staple food that Ekiti people are renowned for.
Various committees, including media, entertainment, logistics, and mobilisation, were inaugurated and tasked with ensuring a successful event. The committees were charged to spring into action to guarantee a memorable outing during the 2025 World Iyan Carnival.
Recall that the inaugural World Iyan Carnival took place in Ekiti State in 2024, setting the stage for this year’s edition.
