The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has imposed a six-month flying ban on Wasiu Ayinde, also known as K1 De Ultimate, over his involvement in a controversy at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on August 5, 2025.
The authority also suspended the licenses of the two ValueJet pilots involved in the incident for breaching pre-departure safety protocols.
Recalled that Wasiu attempted to board ValueJet Flight VK 201 to Lagos with a flask containing a liquid but later confirmed to be alcohol, which exceeded the 100ml limit allowed by aviation security protocols.
Despite repeated warnings from Aviation Security personnel and the flight captain, Ayinde refused to comply with the regulations.
The situation escalated when he allegedly poured the contents of the flask on a security officer and obstructed the aircraft’s departure by standing in front of it.
Ayinde was eventually escorted off the plane by AVSEC’s Crime Unit and later released.
Meanwhile, Wasiu had denied the allegations of unruly conduct, claiming the substance in his flask was plain drinking water given to him at the airport lounge.
He also stated that he was the victim in the incident and has cooperated fully with the authorities.
