Ekiti Police arrests man for killing resident over N4,000

The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested one John Dindul Selbol, for killing a man simply identified as Michael over N4,00.

The incident occurred on Friday, at Uso community along Ado-Afao Road, when Selbol, 26 and an indigene of Langtang Local Government Area of Plateau State, has a heated altercation with the man.

According to eyewitnesses, what started as a heated argument quickly degenerated into a violent fight around 10:30 p.m where both men sustained severe injuries during the clash.

Michael was rushed to the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Ado-Ekiti, but was confirmed dead on arrival and his body has since been deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy.

Selbol, who was also wounded in the fight, is currently receiving medical treatment under police watch.Confirming the development, the Ekiti State Police Command said its officers documented the crime scene and have launched an investigation to unravel the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Command assured residents that justice would be served while calling for calm in the community.
