Ekiti Attorney-General hosts new Commissioner of Police, seeks stronger security synergy

The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Ekiti State, Dayo Apata, SAN, on Tuesday, received the new Commissioner of Police in the state,Joseph Eribo, in his office in Ado-Ekiti.

Playing host to the CP, Apata expressed condolences to the Nigeria Police Force over the death of a former Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, praying for divine fortitude for the Force to bear the loss.

He commended the Commissioner of Police for sustaining the security efforts of his predecessors, which, according to him, had earned Ekiti a commendable position on the security index.

The Attorney-General further lauded the O.C. Legal, ASP Akala, describing him as a “positive resort” for the State in the administration of criminal justice.

Apata urged the Police Command to deepen collaboration with the Ministry, particularly as Ekiti enters another election period, while stressing the need for broader cooperation in strengthening law enforcement and justice delivery.

In his response, C.P Eribo appreciated the Attorney-General and his team for their support and cooperation, reiterating the Police Command’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and praised the State Government for investing in the security architecture of Ekiti.

He equally acknowledged the usefulness of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) in enhancing police operations and justice administration.

Also present at the meeting were Solicitor General and permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justices, Mr Bamidele Bamise , Directors from the Ministry Gbemiga Adaramola, Ajayi Folorunso, Julius Ajibare, Ilesanmi Adelusi, Clement Ayoola,Titilayo Adebayo,Yetunde Kolawole, Sola Salami
