‘Bring back our Pastor or we shut RCCG down’, Church Members protest frequent leadership changes

Adebayo Adenrele

Members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) have threatened to shut down their church over what they describe as excessive political interference in pastoral leadership.

The aggrieved members, during a protest, called for the immediate reinstatement of a presiding Pastor, insisting he was unfairly removed despite his positive impact on the ministry.

The protesters condemned the repeated changes in leadership, noting that the church had experienced five different pastors within a single year, arguing that such instability was damaging to the spiritual growth of the congregation and undermined the unity of the church.

They said, “Bring back our pastor or we shut this church down. It’s simple, either they give us back our pastor or we close this place.

“Who’s coming? Pastor Biora? We say no, enough is enough. This politics is getting out of hand and we refuse to let it continue. How can you change five pastors in one year? How will the church survive if you keep replacing pastors like this?

“We will not allow it to continue. A pastor came and did a beautiful job, but they didn’t even allow him to stay one year because of politics. We don’t agree with that.

“Send him back to lead the ministry of blessings send him back or we will shut down this church”.
