The Lagos State Police Command, has arrested one Emeka Madu, 47 and three others for producing a fake malaria drug drug named ‘Domiquine’ in his illegal drug factory at Ikotun, Lagos.
Madu, who supplied counterfeit medicines to Onitsha markets, said he was tutored by his late friend and has been operating the factory for four years.
Madu, who’s also a secondary school dropout had three apprentices, who distributed the fake drugs to unsuspecting Nigerians, who are believed to have developed health issues after taking the drugs.
Speaking with journalists, the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Jimoh Moshood urged the Public to be weary of fake drugs, stop patronising non-pharmaceutical stores, be vigilant and repot any criminal activities to the nearest police station.
