JAMB approves admission for 85 underage Candidates

Adebayo Adenrele

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has approved admission for 85 underage candidates under its exceptional policy after a rigorous screening exercise.

The move, which follows a comprehensive evaluation process established by the Board to ensure fairness and compliance with institutional and national admission standards, was contained in a statement by its spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.

The Body explains that the 85 candidates were found qualified after meticulous assessment and have been duly notified to proceed to their respective institutions to complete the admission process and print their admission letters.

JAMB emphasizes that the policy of exceptional admission aligns with global best practices, where cases of underage candidates with outstanding academic performance are treated as rare exceptions rather than the norm.

Meanwhile, candidates who scored 320 and above in the 2025 UTME but were disqualified for failing to upload their O-Level results have been given a final window to do so on or before Wednesday, October 29, 2025, and must notify the Board through its ticketing platform.
