An aircraft experienced a mid-air emergency and crash-landed near the Sam Mbakwe International cargo airport, Owerri around 8PM last night.
According to reports, the aircraft was en route from Kaduna to Port Harcourt but an emergency was declared before diverting to Owerri.
NEWSTODAYNG gathered that gour people were on board while survivors were rescued and taken to the hospital.
Reports have it that no fire outbreak was recorded as emergency responders acted swiftly and airport operations reportedly continued.
At the press time of filing this report, the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
