The remanded former Chairman of the Ekiti State Microcredit and Enterprise Development, Akogun Abayomi Olumide popularly known as Lustay has pleaded not guilty to the 9-count charges levelled against him by the Ekiti State Government bordering on conspiracy to commit robbery, armed robbery, attempted murder, unlawful possession of offensive weapons and malicious damage.
Recall that a State High Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State adjourned the case to February 4, 2026 after the Counsel to the State Government, Oluwaseun Olasanmi told the Court that she was not with the documents necessary to proceed with her argument.
However, during the Court proceedings on Wednesday, the counsel said again that the document has not been officially transferred to his possession to enable him access and make necessary contacts.
The defendant’s lawyer, Adedayo Adewunmi argued that his client is undergoing treatment, hence while the bail application is necessary.
The presiding judge of the Court, Justice Omotosho expressed his displeasure at the delay, urging the counsel to show seriousness in the case so that the court can move forward.
He thereby adjourned the case to February 5th, 2026 for further hearing.
