2026 Winter Olympics faces condoms shortage after athletes used 10,000 units in 3 days

The 2026 Winter Olympics, officially known as Milano Cortina 2026, has experienced a shortage of condoms after Athletes used 10,000 units in just three days of the competition.

The Olympics, taking place in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy would run from February 6 to 22, 2026.

According to reports, Athletes at the Olympics use condoms for safe sex to prevent STIs and unintended pregnancies.

Reports also have it that 8,500 condoms were distributed during the 1988 Winter Olympics, 15,000 condoms in 1992, 15,000 condoms in 1994, 20,000 condoms in 1998,16,000 condoms in 2002, 40,000 condoms in 2006, 100,000 condoms in 2010, 100,000 condoms in 2014, 110,000 condoms in 2018, 100,000 condoms in 2022 while 10,000 condoms depleted in just 3 days of the 2026 Winter Olympics.
