The Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Ureje Branch, Ado-Ekiti, Otunba Oloruntimiyin Akintunde has empowered members of the union with several millions of naira.
At separate occasions Otunba oloruntimelyin Akintunde, Ado Ekiti has spent almost ten million naira to empower drivers and members of the Union.
Speaking during the empowerment programme including the recent one held in Ado where about one hundred drivers were empower with millions of naira, Otunba Olruntimileyin Akintunde explained that he embarked on the empowerment to support good work of Governor Biodun Oyebanji and campaign for re-election in June 20th governorship election coming up in EKiti.
He said some of the beneficiaries were given two hundred and fifty thousand, while others collected four hundred and fifty thousand naira to boost their trade and businesses.
Otunba Akintunde known as Director appreciated Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Chairman transport unions advisory Council, Chief Dele Owoju, Chairman NURTW, Ekiti State, Ambassador Joseph Falope and other government functionaries for creating conducive environment for commercial drivers to thrive in the state.
The Ureje Ado Ekiti NURTW Chairman called on members of driver unions and residents of the state to come out in their large numbers to return Governor Biodun Oyebanji during the forthcoming election.
Earlier, some of the beneficiaries including NURTW, Deputy Chairman Akure Unit, Mr Odunayo Falomo, Mr Abiodun Deputy Chairman Ise Unit and Mr Oluwafemi Olumide Deputy Chairman Ondo Unit thanked Otunba Oloruntimileyin Akintunde for the gestures, saying such would help their trade and businesses.
They therefore promised to vote for governor Biodun Oyebanji during the June 20th election
