Super Eagles Head Coach, Chelle demands $130,000 salary, makes 12 other conditions

The Head Coach of Super Eagles, Eric Chelle has presented a 19-point demand to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as part of conditions for extending his contract with the senior national team.

The wide-ranging requests, which cover welfare, logistics, technical autonomy and administrative structure, are aimed at creating what the coach considers a conducive working environment for optimal performance.

Among the key demands is the provision of a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) with an assigned driver and security personnel, as well as a secure residential accommodation with guaranteed 24-hour electricity supply.

Chelle also requested a fully furnished office equipped with a projector for match analysis and reliable high-speed internet access.

In terms of personal and family welfare, the coach asked for flight tickets for his wife and two children, specifying business class travel for himself and his wife, while his children would travel in economy class.

He also listed a GPS-enabled mobility arrangement for his movements.

On the technical side, Chelle called for the provision of modern training equipment and the freedom to select international friendly matches based on the quality of opposition.

He further demanded well-structured camping programmes and comprehensive youth development initiatives to strengthen the national team pipeline.

The coach also sought formal approval to travel abroad to monitor national team players and permission to attend domestic league matches to scout talents for the senior team as well as the U-23, U-20 and U-17 sides.

A major highlight of the conditions is his insistence on non-interference in team selection and player call-ups.

Chelle also requested official contracts for all members of his technical crew.On financial matters, he proposed that salaries be paid on or before the 30th of every month, alongside the prompt payment of bonuses and allowances as stipulated by the federation.

He further asked that his personal assistant be included in the federation’s bonus and allowance structure.

Chelle is also seeking a consolidated monthly salary of $130,000 to cover himself, his technical staff and personal assistant.

In addition, he proposed monthly meetings involving all national team coaches to ensure coordination and alignment across different cadres.
