A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC Raheem Osinowo, has slammed presidential aide Daniel Bwala over his recent interview with Al Jazeera’s journalist, Mehdi Hassan. insisting that he does not speak for the Nigerian government.
Osinowo made the remarks during an interview on News Central Television on Monday, maintaining that the official spokesperson for President Bola Tinubu remains Bayo Onanuga, who serves as the president’s special advisor on information and strategy.
According to him, any official communication from the government should come through Onanuga or other designated communication officials, such as Sunday Diary.
Osinowo accused Bwala of attempting to gain national prominence through controversial statements, saying Daniel is not the spokesperson but a policy person.
He said those policies are still meant to be signed off by Bayo Onanuga, alleging that Bwala’s recent appearance abroad was aimed at rebuilding his public image.
He alleged that Daniel did not go to the United Kingdom to discuss but renew his image, which many people see as that of a staunch liar and image destroyer.
