…charges Govt to revisit policy on health, invest in medical researches
An Health Education Expert, Dr. Oloruntoba Jacinta has described low funding in the health sector as the major factor militating against the general well-being of individuals and the country at large.
Speaking with newsmen after earning a doctorate degree in Health Education at the 27th Convocation Ceremony of the Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti (EKSU), on Thursday, she said government’s investment in the health sector will form a major pedestal for the better wellness of the citizens.
Dr. Jacinta urged the state and federal government to revisit and empower policies concerning health sector, adding that government policy would be the drive behind the success of the sector.
Speaking on the importance of her Research
Topic, “Knowledge, Attitude, Practice and Self-Efficacy Towards Modifiable Risk Factors of Staff of Tertiary Institutions in Ondo State”, Dr. Jacinta said it would be of tremendous help to the general public as regard to its relevance to non-communicable disease.
In her words, “There have a lot of policies in government and private sectors but I want to encourage that such policies should be revisited and empowered.
“The health sector has suffered lack of funding, if that area can be visited by pumping more find into the health sector, it will go a long way.
“You know without good funding, many things can’t fly. I also want funding of researchers, especially in the health sector by supporting their research works.
“This research I carried out is going to be of tremendous help to the general public, the Academia because it has to do with non-communicable disease.” She concluded.
