A Nigerian lady, Obi Cynthia, has made a passionate appeal to the public to come to the aid of her sister, who has been suffering from domestic violence for several years.
In a viral video, Cynthia narrated the harrowing ordeal her sister has been enduring at the hands of her husband.
NEWSTODAYNG gathered that, Cynthia’s sister, a mother of five, has been married to her husband for 11 years, but during this time, she has consistently experienced acts of violence and abuse within the confines of her home.
Cynthia went on to explain that her brother-in-law has managed to avoid serious consequences for his actions by using financial means to manipulate the system. She claimed that each time they attempted to seek help by reporting the matter to the police or human rights organizations, her brother-in-law used money to extricate himself from accountability.
In her words, “I went to Aba so see my sister She called me this morning with her neighbors phone she told me that her husband beat her this my sister has been suffering in the marriage, guys we need your help everybody we need your help,
“He said that we don’t have anybody that nobody will save us, guys please we need your help, see my sister ,see what he did to my sister,
“I have two evidence this is not the first time or second time he has been beating my sister guys please we need your help, the last time he beat my sister we went to human rights in abba but he used money to cover everything because he has money even the police this is becoming too much he always does this because he believes we have both and can’t do anything as we agree only girls in my family nobody can talk to him this is a mother of five since 11 years in marriage no peace please we need you people’s help”.
The identity of the husband in question has not been disclosed, and as of now, there has been no response or denial of the allegations. The video posted by Cynthia has sparked widespread concern and calls for immediate intervention to protect her sister and bring her tormentor to justice.
