Super Falcons’ striker Asisat Oshoala, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, and coach Randy Waldrum have made it to the final shortlist for the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) 2023 Awards.

The trio will compete in different categories, highlighting their outstanding contributions to women’s football.

It was gathered that the awards ceremony is scheduled for December 11, 2023, at the Palais des Congres Movenpick in Morocco, seeing Asisat Oshoala a contender for the Player of the Year Award, facing competition from Zambia’s Barbara Babanda, South Africa’s Andile Dlamini, Hilda Magaia, and Thembi Kgatlana, alongside Cameroon’s Ajara Njoya and Anissa Lahmari, and Morocco’s Fatima Tagnaout and Ghizalaine Chebbak.

Also, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has earned recognition in both the Player of the Year and Goalkeeper of the Year categories, competing against formidable opponents from Morocco and South Africa.

Esther Ajakaye and Deborah Abiodun are in contention for the Young Player of the Year Award, facing competitors from Ghana, Morocco, and South Africa.

Coach Randy Waldrum, who guided Nigeria to the second round of the New Zealand/Australia 2023 Women’s World Cup, is nominated for the Coach of the Year Award, competing with coaches from clubs in Morocco and South Africa.

Also, the Super Falcons are nominated in the National Team of the Year Award category alongside Morocco, Senegal, South Africa, and Zambia. The winners will be determined by votes from a panel comprising CAF’s technical commission members, media professionals, head coaches, and captains of member associations.
