In a recent interview with Channels Television, reality star and former big brother housemate, Doyinsola Anuoluwapo David, popularly known as Doyin has revealed her strong preference for her future husband to reside on the Island, emphasizing that moving to the mainland is a non-negotiable condition for any potential relationship.
Doyin expressed the importance of considerate and generous qualities in her partner, saying, “I’m not about that broke life, and that’s the truth.”
While acknowledging that living on the mainland is not inherently problematic, she firmly stated her commitment to Island living and asserted that her future spouse would need to adapt to the lifestyle.
She said, “I don’t live on the mainland, so if I’m going to date you, we’re going to have to move to the Island. Just because that’s what I’m used to. It’s also closer to everything I do. He would absolutely move to the Island because I’m not going to move to the mainland. That’s just me,” Doyin explained.
Despite her resolute stance, Doyin acknowledged a willingness to find a middle ground between her and future spouse, seeking an arrangement that would accommodate their needs.
However, she made it clear that uprooting her life from the Island entirely was not on the table.
“We would have to find a place that is central for us because everything I do is based on the Island, so it will be strange for me to pack up my whole life and move to the mainland just because I’m getting married. I’m not going to do that,”
The reality TV star concluded by emphasizing that, for her, living in comfort doesn’t necessarily equate to lavish wealth, showcasing a grounded perspective on her expectations for a future partner.
