A former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani has called on federal government to give account of the $460m CCTV cameras installed in Abuja, following the spate of kidnapping cases in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Sani fumed via his X handle, formerly Twitter, saying the previous government secured a $460m Chinese loan for the installation of CCTV cameras in the federal capital yet, can’t be used as bait to combat insecurity.
He wrote, “Nigeria’s capital is experiencing an upsurge in cases of kidnappings; this is the same city that the previous federal government secured a $460 million Chinese loan for the installation of CCTV cameras.
“Both the money and the Cameras have since been kidnapped by elements of the past Governments.”
