The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has declared Ms. Aderinoye Queen Christmas, also known as Ms. Queen Oluwadamilola Aderinoye, a former beauty queen, wanted over alleged dealings in illicit substances.
The declaration comes after she reportedly escaped from her Lekki, Lagos residence during an NDLEA raid prompted by credible intelligence.
Ms. Aderinoye, the founder of Queen Christmas Foundation and Miss Commonwealth Nigeria Culture 2015/2016, is under scrutiny following the discovery of illicit substances during the search of her residence. The seized items include 606 grams of Canadian Loud, an electronic weighing scale, substantial quantities of drug packaging materials, a black RAV 4 SUV marked Lagos KSF 872 GQ, and a picture frame, among other items.
Meanwhile, NDLEA operatives also achieved significant successes in other operations. A Brazil returnee, Udechukwu Ekene Theophilus, was arrested at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja Lagos, for ingesting 60 wraps of cocaine. The suspect, who initially resisted body scans, eventually excreted a total of 60 wraps weighing 1.279 kilograms.
In separate incidents, the NDLEA recovered twelve cartons of tramadol weighing 385.40kg at the SAHCO import shed of the Lagos airport and intercepted over 822 kilograms of cannabis sativa at a fuel station in Ashipa community along Badagry-Seme road. Other arrests and drug seizures occurred in Yobe, Kogi, Kano, Plateau, Ogun, Lagos, and Anambra states.
The NDLEA continues its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) advocacy campaign, conducting sensitization lectures across various states to address both drug supply reduction and drug demand reduction.
Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, commended the efforts of officers and men across multiple commands for their outstanding feats in the fight against drug abuse.
