Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has vowed to tackle the infrastructural challenges at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp in the state.
During the swearing-in ceremony of the 2024 Batch B Stream I corps members, Governor Oyebanji assured the attendees of the government’s unwavering commitment to improving camp facilities and ensuring the smooth operation of the NYSC program in Ekiti State.
Speaking through the Ekiti State Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Adedayo Gold Adesola, Oyebanji extended a warm welcome to the new corps members, promising a safe and supportive environment throughout their service year.
He praised the dedication and resilience of the corps members, emphasizing the NYSC scheme’s crucial role in fostering unity and development in Nigeria.
According to him “We are committed to improving infrastructure and ensuring the effective functioning of the NYSC program in our state.”
He urged the corps members to take an active role in combating unemployment, corruption, and poverty, positioning themselves as agents of positive change.
He also reassured them of the state’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding excellence.
On his part, the Ekiti NYSC coordinator, Alhaji Riko Shuaibu highlighted the significant cooperation among corps members, which has contributed to the efficient administration of the camp.
He expressed confidence that by the end of the orientation program, the corps members would be well-versed in the social, cultural, and economic landscapes of Ekiti State.
The ceremony was also graced by the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, represented by Justice Olatawura, who administered the oath of allegiance to the newly deployed corps members.
