The Nigeria Union of journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State Council has announced plan to decorate some important personalities who have excelled in their chosen career with a National Award of Excellence.
The awardees are the Chief Medical Director of the ABUAD Multi-system Hospital, Dr. Akinola Akinmade, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Oye Ekiti, the Board Chairman of the Ekiti State College of Technology, Dr. Femi Thomas and the Reverend Kayode and Helen Ayide of the Ekiti Baptist Convention.
According to a statement by the NUJ Chairman, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi, the awardees were carefully selected based on their track records of selfless service to humanity, contributions to National growth and development.
He explained that their nomination was approved by the National President of the Union, Alhaji Alhasan Yahaya.
The Chairman noted that the awardees will be formally decorated during the Gala and Award Night of the union scheduled to hold on the 20th of November, 2026, by six O’clock in the evening at the BSO Event Centre, Adehun, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.
