The global stage is set for an African musical takeover as Coachella unveils its star-studded lineup for the 2024 festival.
Nigerian sensation Tems, renowned DJ and artist Spinall, and South Africa’s rising Popstar Tyla are set to dazzle audiences, contributing to the rich tapestry of talent scheduled for the event.
Headlining this six-day extravaganza are Lana Del Rey, Tyler The Creator, and Doja Cat, promising a diverse musical experience for attendees.
The roster includes a mix of international and homegrown talents, featuring the likes of Peso Pluma, J Balvin, Lil Uzi Vert, Skepta, Jon Baptiste, Ice Spice, Lil Yachty, and DJ Snake, among many others.
Nigeria’s imprint on Coachella has been steadily growing, with the likes of Burna Boy, Seun Kuti, and CKay gracing the prestigious stage in previous editions.
In 2019, Burna Boy made headlines by addressing the festival for underscoring his name, a testament to the increasing influence of African artists on the global music scene.
Coachella 2020 witnessed a stellar performance by Grammy-nominated Afrobeat star Seun Kuti and his Egypt 80 Band, while CKay took the stage by storm in 2022. Burna Boy, a consistent performer, returned as a leading supporting act in 2023, solidifying the presence of Nigerian stars on the Coachella platform.
Now, with the inclusion of Tems and Spinall in the 2024 lineup, these talented artists add their names to the growing list of Nigerians who have graced the iconic Coachella stage.
