Middlesbrough Striker, Chuba Akpom, has been officially declared the golden boot winner of the 2022/23 Sky Bet Championship season.
This was announced on the Championship’s official Twitter handle as he ended the season on 28 goals, two assist from 38 league appearances.
The 27-year-old former Arsenal player scored 20 goals at home and eight away from home. Also, he had 50 shots on target and 78 shots in total in the season.
Akpom was voted Championship Player of the Season and also claimed Middlesbrough’s Player of the Year as voted for by fans and also Players’ Player of the Year.
Meanwhile, Akpom would hope to end the season on a high as Middlesbrough feature in the play-offs. The other two teams involved in the play-offs are Luton Town and Sunderland.
On Sunday, May 14, Middlesbrough will visit Coventry in the first leg before hosting them in the reverse fixture on Wednesday, May 17.
