The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Federal Road Maintenance Agency FERMA, Hon. Femi Bamisile has described the demise of the Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Funminiyi Afuye, as a rude shock, unimaginable disaster, unbelievable and unexpected news.
Hon. Bamisile, in a Statement made available to Newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, portrayed the death of the Speaker as a great loss to Nigeria.
“The federal Lawmaker said Nigeria especially Ekiti State had again lost a calm, resourceful, vibrant, hardworking and experienced Legislator.
“The death of Hon. Afuye is also a great devastation and irreparable loss to Ekiti State, Ekiti South Senatorial District and especially Ikere Ekiti.
“The experience garnered over the years by late Afuye as a-two- term member, Ekiti State House of Assembly and a former Commissioner in the State will be greatly missed by all especially in the State and Nigeria as a whole in the quest for a sustainable growth and development”.
Bamisile who was also the Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly between 2007 and 2009 said, “the vacuum created by the death of Afuye will no doubt take a long time to be filled.
“It is unfortunate, disastrous and devastating that such valued material and a core Progressive could be lost in this period of our national life”.
Hon. Bamisile who represents Ekiti South federal Constituency II, at the National Assembly commiserates with Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, his Deputy, Monisola Afuye, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Ikere Ekiti Community, his immediate family and all members of APC in Ekiti State over the demise of Hon. Afuye.
The Politician however, prayed God to give the family Members the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and enjoined them to take solace in God.
