The Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji has charged Corps Members deployed to the state to be agents of positive change in their places of primary assignment.
Governor Oyebanji, who gave the charge during the official closing ceremony of the orientation course for the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream one Corps members deployed to Ekiti State at the Ise/ Emure/Orun Ekiti orientation Camp urged the corps members to support government in the execution of its various programs geared towards improving the lives of people of the state particularly those of their host communities during the service year.
Speaking through the State Commissioner for Youth Development, Gold Adedayo, Governor Oyebanji appealed to the Corps members to make hard work, discipline and service for national development their watchwords.
He charged them to brace up and rise to the challenges ahead with the mindset of sacrifice, dedication, persistence and humility.
The Governor also charged them to adapt to the new environment they have been deployed for their Primary Assignment in the state and build a solid foundation for a year of impactful Service.
Oyebanji admonished the corps members to remove prejudice, eliminate ignorance and confirm first hand the similarities that binds Nigeria as nation.
He assured them of their safety in the State but however cautioned them against embarking on unnecessary night journeys and inimical acts, urging them to settle down and integrate swiftly into the communities where they have been posted for their primary assignment.
The Governor implored the corps members to support the government in the execution of its various programmes geared towards improving the plight of the members of the rural communities with an open heart and learn from their experiences.
Earlier in his address, the Ekiti State NYSC Coordinator, Alhaji Riko Abdullahi Shaibu urged the Corps Members to always promote the unity and integration of Nigeria by their utterances and actions
He acknowledged Governor Oyebanji’s support for the Corps Members in the State, while charging them to realize that the successful completion of the orientation course signifies the beginning of a new phase in their lives.
