In a desperate bid to tackle increasing costs of food prices, the federal government on Monday, suspended duties, tariffs and taxes for the importation of specific food items via land and sea borders.
The items consist of Maize, Husked Brown Rice, Wheat, and Cowpeas.
This was revealed in a press briefing by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, adding that the measures will be implemented over the next 180 days.
