Controversial Twitter figure, Daniel Regha, has reprimanded new-generation artists by criticising Victony’s new track, ‘Ohema.’
Daniel made this assertion via his X handle by calling Victony’s latest track “disappointing.”
He tagged the song, the worst Afrobeat collaboration of 2023 which features 14 other musicians like as Ayra Starr, Bella Shmurda, and Odumodublvck, recommending that everyone who is yet to listen to the music should skip it.
Regha noted that if older artists composed this style of music from newer performers, Afrobeat would have died long ago, claiming that the message being sent by Afrobeat is more important than catchy beats and rhythms.
In his words: “Victony’s new single “Ohema” is greatly disappointing, it’s by far the worst afrobeats collab of 2023; A whole 14 artistes in one song, but couldn’t come up with a better theme or reasonable lyrics. He should’ve done something similar to “We Are the World” ft many artistes. The song is a must skip for anyone who hasn’t streamed.
“If older artistes produced the type of songs this New-generation musicians are making, afrobeats would’ve been dead on arrival; Afrobeats is more than a catchy beat & rhymes, the msg being passed across is equally very important. These new artistes are talented but lack songwriting skills, & are all doing the same thing (literally). If we take away the massive PRs or streaming platforms, majority of their songs won’t surpass 24hrs in the spotlight. Their audience need to start telling ’em the truth.”
