President Bola Tinubu has approved a dignified burial for the 17 soldiers who tragically lost their lives during a peacekeeping mission in Delta State.

Tinubu, who described  the gesture as a fitting tribute to their sacrifice has also authorised the awarding of posthumous national honours to the fallen soldiers, marking a significant acknowledgement of their bravery and service.

The announcement was made by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, through a press release on Wednesday.

The statement detailed that President Tinubu declared these honours during a Ramadan break-fast gathering with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, alongside other House leaders, illustrating the nation’s profound gratitude and respect for the soldiers’ ultimate sacrifices.
