The founder of the House of Faith, Ado-Ekiti, Reverend Tunde Afe has bagged an honorary doctorate degree in Leadership, Corporate Governance, Community Development and Social Welfare (Honoris Causa).

Afe was honoured by the International Leadership Manpower and Management Development, United Kingdom, for his myriad contributions to the society in leadership and corporate governance endeavours.

Speaking on behalf of the Institute during the investiture in Ado-Ekiti, Dr. Theophilus Cornerstone, Director, Membership Services of the institute said Afe is not just a leader but one who grows others to lead.

Cornerstone, who also decorated Afe with a Platinum Badge said the institute honours individuals who are ambassadors for change in the society.

His words: “Leadership is not about serving others. Leadership is that you don’t die with anger without fulfilling it. He put 200 hectres to use. That’s a man who has anger to the world. Don’t erroneously believe that leadership about leading people.

“When we see a man leading a course, then the future won’t forget him. The world don’t forget you when you are leading a course. Never you think that leadership is about leading people but leading for a course.

“If this city understand what leadership is, this man should be studied. We want to say thank you that you are not just a leader but who grows others to lead.”

Expressing his gratitude, Afe hailed the institute for recognising the works they are doing in Ekiti, adding that it will encourage him to do more.

While thanking God for adding another year to his life, the Life Coach, Author, Motivational Speaker, Mentor and Leadership Trainer urged individuals to impact lives positively in the society.

His words, “I am happy particularly for the fact that one is doing something in Ekiti and is recognised from far away in the U.K. It gives me a lot of joy. A lot of people thought that we don’t know what we are doing.

“Whatever you are doing that is touching lives, just keep doing it because people are watching you. You never can tell where the honour will come from. I am happy and elated. I feel good and thank God for adding another year in good health. I am grateful to God.

“It is a call to do more and that means that one has to improve in what we have been doing before. It means that one has to touch more lives. We cannot just sit down at this moment. It is a call to service.”
