An Ekiti wonderkid identified as Ayo, popularly known as ‘Tolani Danger’ in Erijiyan-Ekiti, Ekiti West Local Government, has initiated a jaw-dropping project in the state by generating electricity from rocks.
Tolani Danger, who is a drop-out student, described his passion for electricity generation as intense, adding that he was born to discover sources that can provide electricity.
According to him, he noticed that a cutlass can generate a spark of light when struck against the rock; hence, his quest to embark on thorough research and find a way to generate electricity directly from rocks, which are hard rock (igneous rock) and soft rock (sedimentary rock).
When the NEWSTODAYNG correspondent visited his family house in Erijiyan-Ekiti, it was discovered that the rocks actually generated the electricity, which can contain all home appliances ranging from irons, fans, televisions, and refrigerators, among others.
In his words, “I dug the ground to make a hole, and I placed both rocks, i.e., hard rock (igneous rock) and soft rock (sedimentary rock), on top of each other. The hard rock is the positive voltage, while the soft rock is the negative voltage, and the soft rock protects the electricity from being affected by thunderstorms.
“I generated the electricity by penetrating thoroughly into both rocks; I slotted red wire very well into the hard rock and black wire into the soft rock, then I connected the wires to the engine in the house, and it started to work.
“But there is one thing: if there is no water on it, the current would be low, so you have to add more water. We pour water on it to cool it down if it is taking in too much load current.
“This electricity accommodates irons, fans, television, everything.
“I didn’t go to school; I dropped out of school in SS 1. What I am here to do on earth is just to discover electricity. I always do research to know how I can generate electricity from something. That’s why I did this research because I discovered that there’s a spark of light when we strike a cutlass against a rock.
“That’s how I thought that if a cutlass could spark light through the rock, I could also generate electricity from it.” He said
NEWSTODAYNG recalled that ‘Tolani Danger’ also made a woofer speaker with a 50litre keg in October, 2022.
