Tragedy struck in Piko Community, Bwari Area Council of Abuja following the abduction of thirteen individuals by suspected gunmen.

The invasion, which caught vigilance groups and other security agencies off guard, unfolded in the dead of night, leaving residents in shock and disbelief.

Chief John Jatau, the Maidakin of Piko, confirmed that among those kidnapped were ten residents, including four nomadic Fulani herdsmen. However, one of the nomads managed to escape from the clutches of the abductors.

The individuals still held in captivity have been identified as Nuhu Anyiwoyi, Emmanuel Nuhu, Danjuma Ali, Parisa Numa, Ezekiel Jatau, Shekwosa Ezekiel, Roseline Samuel, Salome Jacob, Abyelo Ezr, and Ezra Male and the gunmen have demanded a total of 900 million naira ransom.

When contacted, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh neither confirmed nor refuted the abduction incident.
