The Families of Lawal of Ikoro-Ekiti on Sunday inaugurated a Memorial Specialist Hospital in memory of their late mother, Mrs Julianah Abike for her passion for the less privileged indigenes of the community.
The newly built hospital was located within the centre of the community for easy access of residents to the medical facility in Ikoro-Ekiti in Ijero Local Government Area.
In his address of welcome, Dr Fatai Lawal, on behalf of the family said they decided to immortalised their mother by building the hospital because of her passion for quality health care services for her people while she was alive.
Lawal noted that his mother’s interest in quality health delivery prompted the family to establish a functional specialist hospital with low cost in the community.
“We initiated the establishment of a specialist hospital with affordable cost in Ikoro-Ekiti because of our mother’s passion and care for the Indigenes of the community and to mark her 21st remembrance ceremony.
“It is one of the best private hospital in Ijero local government area and it’s environment producing functional health care delivery for residents and Indigenes.
” we humbly urged residents to always visit the hospital to check their health status any day and at anytime with affordable cost,” he said.
Inaugurating the hospital, the Olukoro of Ikoro-Ekiti, Oba Adebanji Adeleye, commended the initiative entire families of Lawal for the laudable project to further promote the development of the community.
Oba Adeleye, who was represented by Chief Adebomi Adeyeye, the Ominio of Ikoro-Ekiti, urged residents of the community to patronise the hospital whenever they need quality health services.
He prayed for the entire families of Lawal that God would continue to bless them to be more successful in life.
“Your Mother will be forever remembered as a Great Nation builder who have passion for quality health care delivery services and love for indigenes of Ikoro-Ekiti.
“I want to urge both Indigenes and residents of our community to always patronise the hospital to get quality health care at affordable cost,” he said.
Similarly, the former Commissioner of Health in Ekiti State, Dr Femi Thomas lauded members of Lawal’s family for their contribution to the community and the newly built hospital.
“We can’t but appreciate you for bringing this development to our community in honouring your mother with establishment of Hospital named after her implies you are wonderful people and we are proud of you,” he said.
Thomas advised residents especially the pregnant women to key into the health insurance scheme already established in the community for quality health delivery.
NAN reports that Lawal’s family announced that free medical consultations and treatments with two days free surgery would be carried out on indigenes of the community as part of the 21st remembrance ceremony of their late mother.
Some of the dignitaries in attendance at the inauguration of the hospital includes, Mr Ropo Ige, former Chairman of Ijero Local Government area, community leaders and prominent sons and daughters of the community.
