The Independent National Election Commission, INEC has pledged to announce the date of the supplementary election immediately after the 2023 governorship and state Assembly election.
In a statement signed by the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter’s Education Committee, Festus Okoye Esq, he also debunked a rumour making the round that the Commission intend to conduct supplementary elections arising from the Presidential and National Assembly election that will take place on Saturday, 18th March.
The statement read in part” The Commission has not scheduled the conduct of supplementary elections.
“However, this should not be confused with the two National Assembly Election earlier suspended by the Commission and rescheduled to hold along with the Governorship and State Assembly elections.”
