A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti state, Israel Adesokan, popularly called Jaru has massively delivered his polling unit 14, ward A in Iyin-Ekiti, Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state to all APC candidates in the poll.
In the presidential election, the APC candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu polled 208 votes to defeat Atiku Abubakar who scored one vote and Labour party’s candidate, Peter Obi scored zero.
The Ekiti Central senatorial district candidate, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele polled 209 votes with his closet rival from the PDP, Lateef Ajijola who garnered no vote.
In the House of Representatives poll, Sola Fatoba of the APC emerged victorious with 209 to votes to defeat the candidate of the PDP, Joju Fayose who polled one vote.
Speaking earlier after exercising his franchise in his Agbaakin compound unit 14, Iyin-Ekiti, Israel Adesokan commended INEC for the smooth conduct of the voting process.
According to him, ” I just voted and it was a seamless process. The turnout in impressive as you can see now and everything is going well here.
” I want to commend INEC , they have done well especially with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), it took me just about a minute for the machine to verify me for accreditation. The exercise is credible and I hope it continues this way.”
