A former lawmaker representing Ekiti North Federal Constituency, Bimbo Daramola on Tuesday awarded free Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to students of Ikole Local Government Area of the state.

This gesture was the fulfillment of his promise to award students who participated in the monthly health and fitness activity tagged “The BAOWalk” over the weekend in the Local Government.

The JAMB form award, which came in form of cash gift of N10,000 to 100 students was one of the former lawmaker’s selfless gestures in making sure that an average Ekiti kid is educated.

Addressing the gathering, the congressman, represented by his group’s Director General, Wole Ayeni said the cash gift was not an empowerment token, calling on the parents to make sure they obtain the form for their wards.

He said, “This money is for our students who wants to write JAMB examination to be enrolled at a higher institution.

“It’s not meant for students who does not have WAEC, NECO, GCE results and the likes; it’s strictly for those who are ready to sit for JAMB.

“It’s not an empowerment scheme and I want to implore all our parents to make judicious use of the capital and make sure it’s not diverted for other purposes”.

Speaking with one of the beneficiaries, Olabode Samuel appreciated Bimbo Daramola for coming through for him, saying he has been struggling to get money for the form all to no avail.

Afolabi Esther equally expressed delight at her qualification for the offer, recounted how many were disqualified by their inability to meet up with the criteria.
