Officers of Information & Civic Orientation of the Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas in Ekiti State, have commended the immediate former chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti council, Rotimi Ojomoyela for his efforts in the creation of Information department across LGAs.
The Information Officers gave the commendation during the retirement ceremony of some members of the department and the celebration of the creation of Department of Information & Civil Orientation.
In his address of welcome, the Chairman of Ekiti State Forum of Directors of Information & Civic Orientation, Ajibola Taiwo said Ojomoyela’s strategic roles towards the creation of the new Department did not go unnoticed, stressing that his solidarity movement contributed to the actualisation of the department.
Ajibola felicitated with the retires, describing their journey as rare grace of finishing the race on good notes .
The chairman also lauded members for their affirmed commitment that led to the creation of the Information & Civic Orientation Department.
He appealed to the retirees not to abandon those left in the service, saying their wealth of experience would still be invaluable to the department.
In his goodwill message, Rotimi Ojomoyela congratulated the retirees for God’s grace and mercy to navigate through the rigours of 35-year in service.
He expressed his delight at the successful creation of the department and urged members to consolidate on the laudable achievement.
The Head of Local Government Administration (HLA), Appointment and Postings, Local Government Service Commission, S.A Familoye said the creation of the Department of Information remained an everlasting legacy bequeathed by the retiree, urging them to sustain the credibility of their legacy.
“Let us find ways to mitigate our shortcomings .Let us be more focused, let us be critical thinkers, problem solvers such that we can learn together and grow together” Familoye stated .
Responding on behalf of the retirees, Prince Femi Adelusi appreciated God for His abundant grace upon them throughout their service years .He applauded the Forum for organizing a befitting sent-forth ceremony to honour them and pledged their continued support.
The retirees are: Femi Adelusi, Prince Bamisaye Tunde, Bode Bankole, Oguntuase Richard and Ade Oyebola.
