Nigerian musician, Oluwatosin Ajibade, also as Mr Eazi, has accused Popular comedian, I go dye, of scamming him during a concert in Ghana.
NEWSTODAYNG gathered that, Mr Eazi revealed this during a recent interview on the Afrobeats Intelligence podcast, detailing how I Go Dye failed to fulfill his commitment to perform at the event despite receiving payment. The musician recounted the incident, contrasting I Go Dye’s actions with those of other artists like Sarkodie, R2bees, and Wande Coal who honored their commitments even when full payment hadn’t been received.
Further speaking on the show, he emphasized the importance of professionalism in the entertainment industry, sharing also a past experience involving Wande Coal and Sarkodie, where he faced challenges with artists fulfilling their commitments, he said he had to beg Sarkodie to just perform even though he didn’t pay in full.
He highlighted that despite not paying Sarkodie in full, the artist still came on stage, showcasing his dedication to the craft and that’s why they are brothers till date, while in contrast, I Go Dye allegedly absconded with the payment meant for his performance.
The incident raised questions about financial transparency and accountability in the entertainment sector, where artists, event organizers, and stakeholders collaborate to deliver successful shows.
Mr Eazi, who is known for his contributions to the African music scene, expressed his disappointment with the situation, emphasizing that it’s not a personal issue but a matter he intends to address when he encounters I Go Dye.
