The Ondo State Assembly has withdrawn its appeal against the Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, during the appeal court session in Abuja on Thursday.

This took place following the restraining order issued by Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on September 26.

The order saw the court had prohibiting the Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, its Chief Judge, House of Assembly, Speaker, and others from proceeding with the planned impeachment of Aiyedatiwa. The restraint was to be in effect until the determination of a pending motion on notice for interlocutory injunctions.

However, on October 3, 2023, it was gathered that the Speaker and the National Assembly filed an appeal challenging the restraining order.

During the recent court proceedings, Remi Olatubora, SAN, the counsel for the applicants, announced to the court that a political solution had been reached among the parties involved in the matter.
