The Minister of State for Environment, Hon Iziaq Salako said the ministry has issued a preliminary environment impact assessment (EIA) for site clearance of the Lagos-Calabar Highway Project.
Salako stated this on Friday at a Ministerial Press Briefing in commemoration of World Press Freedom Day.
Speaking at the Programme themed: “A Press for the Planet: Journalism in the face of the Environment”, he said “The ministry of environment has issued a preliminary environment impact assessment (EIA) for site clearance and scoping for compensation of the Lagos-Calabar Highway Project.
“It is a very long project, it’s not something we can do once. We have decided to approach the issuers of the certification so that the project can go on”.
