Gunmen have attacked the Jouro Manu village in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba state, where they killed three persons and six others were abducted. According to residents, the attackers arrived on motorcycles at about 2 pm on Sunday and started shooting sporadically

The Police Public Relations Officer of Taraba state, Gambo Bajabu Kwache, who confirmed the incident on Monday to reporters said the police were on top of the situation and working to nab the assailants.

“We are on top of the situation, we have deployed our men to the area to assess the situation and track down the attackers.”

Two residents of the community, Umar Saidu and Abdullahi Mohammed, said many people are exiting the community for fear of their lives. Recall that Hon. Musa Chul, the immediate former chairman of Gassol local government, raised an alarm last year over terrorists camping in forests around the council area.
