Anthony Onyemaechi Elumelu, Nigerian economist, philanthropist and founder of The Tony Elumelu Foundation has expressed delight and fulfilment at his daughter’s participation and involvement during the the ongoing COP28 in Dubai.

Oge Elumelu, presented the outcome of the summit on behalf of the AU_YouthEnvoy with the theme Underscoring the Pivotal Role of Youth in Adopting an Integrated approach to Climate Action.

In her address, She noted that Youths are not waiting for an invitation but rather carving out spaces where their voice resonate and inviting everyone to join in the pursuit for sustainable development.

She added that Youths are not only the torchbearers of the future, but the architects of the present.

Sharing a video clip from the event on his X handle, Elumelu expressed his delight at her involvement in COP28 and the speech she delivered expressing the stance of the youth.

He wrote, “Incredibly proud of my Oge ❤️ This morning, she delivered the opening speech on behalf of the @_AfricanUnion @AU_YouthEnvoy and participated in a panel session at “Unlocking the Power of Youth” at the ongoing #COP28 in Dubai.

“This stayed with me from her speech, “The youth are not only the torchbearers of the future, but the architects of the present.”
