In a heart-wrenching incident in Kwalfada village, located in the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, a man lost his life at the hands of bandits after refusing a marriage proposal from one of them for his daughter.

The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, opted to give his daughter’s hand in marriage to a local man instead, rejecting the bandit’s proposal.

Mallam Rabo, an indigene of the village, recounted the sequence of events leading to the tragic outcome.

According to Rabo, the bandits, angered by the rejection, retaliated by invading the community. The consequences were devastating – the father of the girl fell victim to their violence.

Following the heinous act, the bandits escalated their demands. They insisted that the newly married husband of the girl must divorce her, paving the way for their colleague to marry her.

To enforce their directive, the bandits threatened the husband with dire consequences if he failed to comply.

Faced with the terrifying ultimatum, the husband reluctantly divorced his wife, who was subsequently remarried to the bandit.

Mallam Rabo expressed deep concern over the prolonged reign of terror inflicted by the bandits on Kwalfada village. He disclosed that the bandits had been a constant threat to the community for an extended period, with no tangible intervention from authorities to safeguard the inhabitants.

In a shocking revelation, Rabo disclosed that the bandits had recently imposed a substantial N4 million levy on the village, further exacerbating the residents’ plight.
