The Presidential Election Petition Court has officially kicked-started hearing of petitions against the outcome of the 2023 presidential election in Abuja on Monday.
NEWSTODAYNG gathered that Governor Simon Lalong and LP Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, are both present at the tribunal to observe the proceedings of the day.
According to the chairman of the panel, Justice Haruna Tsammani in his inaugural speech, he said the court is determined to look at the matter dispassionately and give justice to whoever deserves it.
He also promised that the court would consider the substance of each case over technicalities so that the Litigants will be satisfied.
He equally warned parties against unnecessary applications that could delay proceedings.
The presiding judge also disclosed that the petitions to be considered today during the pre-hearing would be the first three petitions while the 4th and 5th petitions would commence on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Tribunal will observe People’s Democratic party, PDP and Allied People’s Movement, APM petitions before the commencement of the hearings proper on Wednesday.
