As January 16, 2027 general elections gather momentum, a Chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC), Prince Adeolu Tinubu contesting for Ekiti South Federal Constituency II (Gbonyin, Ekiti East and Emure) has set up his campaign council team with Olubayode Okeya as Director-general.

Prince Tinubu, who is a US-based Nigerian business mogul, public health practitioner and a former Secretary-General of the GRENADA Civil Rights Organization, hailed from Emure Ekiti and has actively participated in local politics, including calling for unity among APC leaders in Ekiti State in 2020.

He had served as the Chairman of the Ekiti State University (EKSU) Alumni, USA chapter and a former National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) State Awards winner.

Speaking with journalists, Prince Tinubu said Okeya’s emergence as the Director General is a reflection of his track record of professionalism in marketing and politics, exuding confidence in his capacity and agility to embark on political campaigns that would align with the guidelines of the electoral act.

Also appointed was Professor Gloria Tinubu, a Don of Economics from the Spleman University, USA as the Logistic Adviser.

The newly appointed DG, Okeya pledged to deploy his wealth of experience in political strategy, grassroots mobilization and stakeholder engagement to ensure the campaign reaches every ward and polling unit across Gbonyin, Ekiti East and Emure local government areas.

He said the campaign council would focus on issue-based engagement, people-oriented programmes and direct interaction with constituents, with particular attention to the needs of women, youths and the elderly.

According to him, Prince Tinubu’s aspiration is driven by a commitment to quality representation, improved access to federal opportunities and sustainable development for the constituency.

The Director-General further described Prince Tinubu as a bridge-builder whose international exposure, professional accomplishments and deep-rooted connection to Emure Ekiti position him as a strong voice for the constituency at the National Assembly.

Okeya assured party supporters that the team would run an inclusive and transparent campaign anchored on unity, discipline and respect for the electoral process.

“We are fully prepared to take this message of hope and renewed representation to the grassroots. Our strategy is to connect with the people, listen to their concerns and present practical solutions that will improve lives across the constituency,” he assured.

Okeya added that the campaign council would immediately commence consultations with party leaders, community stakeholders, youth groups and women associations in the three local government areas to consolidate support ahead of the polls.
