The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested one Omoyeni Sesan, 32 for stealing Redmi Android and Itel phones.
This was contained in a statement signed and made available to journalists by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Sunday Abutu.
The statement reads, “On 16/04/2026 at about 1730hrs, Ado Central Divisional Police Headquarters received a credible information that a suspected notorious phone thief was sighted at Fayose market trying to flash and sell off some phones he recently stole.
“Upon receipt of the information, operatives from the Division swung into action and arrested the suspect, one OMOYENI SESAN ’32yrs’, with one Redmie Android phone and one Itel phone, reasonably suspected to have been stolen.
“During investigation, the suspect confessed to have stolen the two phones from a cyber café at Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti.
“The owners of the phones, who are students of the Polytechnic, have been identified and their phones will be handed over to them accordingly.The suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
“The Command implores members of the public to be vigilant and continue to collaborate with and support the Police with credible and timely information that will help to arrest criminal elements in our environs”.
